You have to watch this video!

So you know, how your nerves work – an animated explanation from TED-Ed.
Nerves are far more than wires, folks. It’s more than electricity. They’re electrochemical wonders that allow us to be the complex organisms that we are today.
An animation from TED about how nerves work.
I’ve rearranged my classroom! The first image is my “pod” set up. There’s much more space now to walk around. When the desks were in rows there was less than a foot between them!
The second image is my “Student Zone” board and desk. I’m going to put extra handouts in the folders under each class. I’ve also got the weekly/unit schedule up for students to check out. On the whiteboard (semi behind my desk) I’m going to record the day’s agenda and homework.
I’m planning on adding a few more signs to the room but it’s pretty much ready for the first day of school!
Love seeing ideas from teachers. Here are more.
Google is remoingg five services including iGoogle - Google Mini, Google Talk Chatback and Google video aren’t much of a surprise, however, I’ve helped teachers set up personalized iGoogle pages. They are using RSS without knowing it. I think that Google reader is overwhelming for the average teacher, so iGoogle will be a huge loss. With no comparable service, I’ll take them to Netvibes. That one is a mistake, although we have 16 months to migrate data.
